2022 Great Electric Car Rally
The 2022 Great Electric Car Rally, created by the Fondation québécoise d’éducation en sécurité routière and partly funded by Natural Resources Canada, aimed to raise awareness about transportation electrification and promote long-distance electric driving. The Rally demonstrated that driving an EV is not only feasible but fun, even outside large cities where charging stations are plentiful.
From September 18 to 23, Rally participants were challenged to drive 600 km per day, with their energy consumption and time being monitored.
In their electric vehicles (EVs), 22 competitors, involving all types of EVs and making up 11 crews, traveled over 3,000 km across 5 Eastern Canadian provinces during the Rally.
The winning crew was the one that had the best energy consumption while staying within the time limits and successfully completing the most challenges. And the winning team is the one whose crew members got the best results, day after day.
